SWACHH SURVEKSHAN REPORT 2023 IN ENGLISH: The Central Government’s annual cleanliness survey results have been announced today. Indore in Madhya Pradesh has been named the cleanest city in India for the 7th time in a row. Apart from Indore, Gujarat’s Surat has topped the list of cleanest cities.

SWACHH SURVEKSHAN REPORT 2023 IN ENGLISH: Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra is ranked third. In the ‘Swach Survey Awards 2023’- Best performing states category, Maharashtra has bagged the first position followed by Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
President Draupadi Murmu presented the awards to the winners at a function attended by Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and others. In terms of cleanest cities, in the category of cities with a population of less than one lakh, Maharashtra’s Saswat tops the list, followed by Chhattisgarh’s Patan and Maharashtra’s Lonavala.
Varanasi has been selected as the cleanest Ganga city in the list of cities with a population of over 1 lakh. Prayagraj city has got the next place. Mela from Maharashtra has been selected as the cleanest Cantonment Board in the country. Not a single city from Tamil Nadu made it to the top 100 list of cleanest cities. Trichy has been selected at the 112th position and Chennai at the 199th position.
Swachh Survey Results
SWACHH SURVEKSHAN REPORT 2023 IN ENGLISH: Last year, Bijnor ranked first among Gangetic cities with a population of less than one lakh. It was followed by the cities of Kannaj and Karmukdeshwar. Indore and Surat retained the top spot in the big cities category last year.
At the same time, Vijayawada lost its third place to Navi Mumbai. In the category of states with less than 100 urban bodies, Tripura stood first. The Swachh Survey survey is conducted to find out how far the Swachh Bharat program has progressed and to rank the urban local bodies on cleanliness and sanitation. The survey survey conducted for the first time in 2016 covered only 73 cities. But, currently, 4,354 cities have been surveyed.
List of Cleanest Cities in Tamil Nadu

Trichy has the highest rank of 112. It has improved from 262 last time and has taken this position. Similarly, Thoothukudi is ranked 179th, Coimbatore 182nd and Chennai 199th.
