INDIA SMART CITIES AWARDS 2022: இந்தியா ஸ்மார்ட் சிட்டிஸ் விருதுகள் என்பது சிறந்த நடைமுறைகள் மற்றும் நகர மாதிரிகளைக் கொண்ட நகரங்களை சிறப்பித்துக் காட்டும் மற்றும் கௌரவிக்கும் ஒரு முயற்சியாகும்.

வீட்டுவசதி மற்றும் நகர்ப்புற விவகார அமைச்சகத்தின் ஸ்மார்ட் சிட்டிஸ் மிஷன். இது ISAC விருதுகளின் நான்காவது பதிப்பாகும்.

INDIA SMART CITIES AWARDS 2022: ஸ்மார்ட் சிட்டிஸ் மிஷன் என்பது மத்திய வீட்டுவசதி மற்றும் நகர்ப்புற விவகார அமைச்சகத்தின் ஒரு முயற்சியாகும். இது ஜூன் 25, 2015 அன்று பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடியால் தொடங்கப்பட்டது.
நாடு முழுவதும் உள்ள நகரங்கள், நகராட்சி சேவைகளை மேம்படுத்துவதற்கும், அவற்றின் அதிகார வரம்புகளை மேலும் வாழக்கூடியதாக மாற்றுவதற்கும் திட்டங்களுக்கான முன்மொழிவுகளை சமர்ப்பிக்குமாறு கேட்டுக் கொள்ளப்பட்டது.

INDIA SMART CITIES AWARDS 2022: Smart Cities Awards India is an initiative that highlights and honours the cities with the finest practices and city models. The motto of the award is to encourage cities to practise approaches to making cities habitable, ecological, and financially feasible.
The Smart Cities Mission, by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. This is the fourth edition of the ISAC awards.
In the past, the ISAC witnessed three editions in 2018, 2019 and 2020. The 2022 edition was launched in April last year during the ‘Smart Cities-Smart Urbanization’ event in Surat.
Criteria for selection of cities
INDIA SMART CITIES AWARDS 2022: The ISAC recognises and rewards cities, projects and innovative ideas that are promoting sustainable development across the 100 smart cities, as well as stimulating inclusive, equitable, safe, healthy and collaborative cities leading to a better quality of life for all.
The ISAC 2022 award had a two-stage submission process consisting of; ‘Qualifying Stage’, which involved overall assessment of the city’s performance, and The ‘Proposal Stage’ which required the smart cities to submit their nominations for six award categories.

INDIA SMART CITIES AWARDS 2022: The Smart Cities Award India takes this platform as an opportunity to honour recognise and encourage people, legislators, businesses, townships, government organisations, and associations for their efforts in both the urban and rural sectors.
Smart Cities Mission
INDIA SMART CITIES AWARDS 2022: The Smart Cities Mission is an initiative of the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry. It was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 25, 2015. Cities across the country were asked to submit proposals for projects to improve municipal services and to make their jurisdictions more liveable.
Between January 2016 and June 2018 (when the last city, Shillong, was chosen), the Ministry selected 100 cities for the Mission over five rounds.
The projects were supposed to be completed within five years of the selection of the city, but in 2021 the Ministry changed the deadline for all cities to June 2023.

INDIA SMART CITIES AWARDS 2022: Smart Cities India 2022 Awards is a unique platform designed to felicitate, recognize and encourage individuals, policymakers, companies, municipalities, government bodies, and associations to illuminate the work done across both urban and rural sectors.
The awards are given across the themes of Social Aspects, Governance, Culture, Urban Environment, Sanitation, Economy, Built Environment, Water, Urban Mobility
The ISAC recognizes and rewards cities, projects, and innovative ideas that promote sustainable development in urban areas in India, as well as stimulate inclusive, equitable, safe, healthy, and collaborative cities, thus enhances the quality of life for all
Recently, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India, in collaboration with Surat Smart City Corporation Development Ltd., organised a “Smart Cities, Smart Urbanization” conference in Surat in April 2022, under the clarion call of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM).
An awards ceremony was held during this conference to recognise the winners of the India Smart Cities Awards Contest (ISAC) 2020. When the list of winners was revealed in 2021, the award event was postponed owing to the ongoing COVID-19 issue. Surat and Indore were named Best Cities, and Uttar Pradesh was named Best State.
