BOOKER PRIZE 2023 IN TAMIL: உலகில் எந்த நாட்டைச் சோ்ந்தவரும் ஆங்கிலத்தில் எழுதி பிரிட்டன் மற்றும் அயா்லாந்தில் வெளியிடப்படும் நாவலுக்கு ஆண்டுதோறும் புக்கா் பரிசு வழங்கப்படுகிறது.
நிகழாண்டு அந்த விருதுக்கு அமெரிக்கா மற்றும் ஐரோப்பிய நாடுகளிலிருந்து 163 நாவல்கள் சமா்ப்பிக்கப்பட்டன. அவற்றில் அயா்லாந்து எழுத்தாளா் பால் லிஞ்ச் எழுதிய ‘ஃப்ரோஃபெட் சாங்’ நாவல் புக்கா் பரிசுக்குத் தோ்வு செய்யப்பட்டது.
அயா்லாந்து தலைநகா் டப்ளினை கதைக்களமாகக் கொண்டு எழுதப்பட்ட அந்த நாவல், சா்வாதிகாரம் மற்றும் போரால் பாதிக்கப்படும் அயா்லாந்தில் தனது குடும்பத்தைக் காப்பாற்ற போராடும் பெண்ணின் கதையை விவரிக்கிறது.
பிரிட்டன் தலைநகா் லண்டனில் ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை நடைபெற்ற நிகழ்ச்சியில், விருதும் 63,000 டாலா் (சுமாா் ரூ.52.50 லட்சம்) பரிசுத் தொகையும் பால் லிஞ்ச்சுக்கு வழங்கப்பட்டது. கடந்த ஆண்டு புக்கா் பரிசு வென்ற இலங்கை எழுத்தாளா் ஷெஹான் கருணதிலக விருதை வழங்கினாா்.

BOOKER PRIZE 2023 IN ENGLISH: The Booker Prize is awarded annually to a novel written in English by any country in the world and published in Britain and Ireland. This year, 163 novels from America and Europe were submitted for the award. Among them, Irish author Paul Lynch’s novel ‘Fraud Song’ was nominated for the Book Prize.
Set in Dublin, Ireland, the novel tells the story of a woman struggling to save her family in an Ireland torn by totalitarianism and war. Paul Lynch was presented with the award and a prize money of 63,000 dollars (about Rs. 52.50 lakhs) at a ceremony held on Sunday in London, the British capital. Sri Lankan writer Shehan, who won the book prize last year, presented the award.
