• Explaining India’s efforts to prevent tuberculosis, Dr. Mandavia said that this year, the conference was held in India to coincide with World Tuberculosis Day.
• Dr. Mantavia highlighted the importance of the upcoming UN High Level Meeting on Tuberculosis to be held in September, calling it a collective effort to end TB.
• Dr Mandavia said India’s relentless efforts to control TB have yielded significant results.
• He said that from 2015 to 2022, the incidence of tuberculosis in the country has decreased by 13%, which is higher than the international reduction rate of 10%.
• Dr. Mandavia said that the TB death rate in India has decreased by 15% during the same period, while the international rate is 5.9%.
• Dr. Mantavia pointed out the need to develop a vaccine in the fight against tuberculosis. Dr. Mantavia concluded his speech by expressing his hope that TB can be eradicated from the world by 2030.

A fighter jet landing on Vikrant is a historic feat

• Also, fighter jets have never been landed on a ship at night. In this situation, while the Vikrant ship was traveling in the Arabian Sea, the pilots landed the MiG 29K fighter jet for the first time at night.

The Prime Minister flagged off the Vande Bharat Express train from Dehradun to Delhi
